Under Skies is a short animated film with an original soundtrack, produced in collaboration with Michaela Nettell. The film is the outcome of a research project investigating the application of glass to the production and transformation of sound recordings and stop-motion (pixilated) image sequences.
The project aims to develop applications of glass to the generation, transformation and presentation of sounds and images, particularly in areas of audio-visual synthesis, but also in areas such as interpretation and depiction. The project refers to creative techniques and practices explored in the visual work of Patrick Bokanowski and others, and develops these in cognate areas of sound practice, exploring new creative and material processes and new relationships between sounds and images.
